Congratulations to Professor Ajmol Ali from the School of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition for being awarded an Honorary Professorship by his alma mater, Loughborough University.
Professor Ali began his academic journey at Loughborough University in England in 1995, where he completed his Bachelors, Masters and PhD. Loughborough is the number one ranked university for sport and exercise according to the QS Subject Rankings.
This honorary appointment strengthens Professor Ali’s ties with Loughborough and supports the development of research collaborations and funding opportunities.
“I have many friends and colleagues who work in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University. Currently, I have been hosting placement students, writing papers and supervising students, which helps build stronger connections. On a personal note, it feels like going back home,” Professor Ali says.
Head of Massey’s School of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition Associate Professor Andrew Foskett says it is wonderful to see Professor Ali being recognised in this way.
“To see Professor Ali complete the circle from undergraduate student through to honorary professor at his alma mater is testimony to his expertise and peer esteem within the field of sport science. In addition to his recent recognition in Standford University’s Top 2% Scientists list, this appointment further exemplifies his research and academic excellence.” Dr Foskett says.
